David Ackerman, CFA, CFP®, CIMA®, CPWA® Managing Partner
David is the managing partner and chief investment strategist of Ackerman Capital Management. He has held the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) designation since 1995 and the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designation since 1996. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the Financial Planning Association®, as well as a member and Past President of the CFA Society of Dallas-Fort Worth. David expanded his credentials over the years to include the designations of Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) and Certified Private Wealth Advisor® (CPWA®) accredited by the Investments and Wealth Institute™.
David has been involved with a number of DFW community and philanthropic organizations over the years. Currently, he serves as a Trustee of St. Mark’s School of Texas and is a former chairman of the school’s Investment Committee. He is the Advisory Board Chairman to the Ackerman Center for Holocaust Studies at UT Dallas, a Director of the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum (DHHRM), and the Chairman of the DHHRM Endowment. David is also a long-time member of the Advisory Board to the Dallas Urban Debate Alliance.
David joined Ackerman Capital Management in 1992, collaborating with his father, Edward Ackerman, as investment managers and business owners for over 25 years.
David graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Economics.
